Hubli
The Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) has initiated an awareness campaign urging commercial establishments and residents to segregate wet and dry waste.
Residents failing to comply with waste segregation regulations will no longer have their waste collected by HDMC. Civic workers are conducting door-to-door campaigns and distributing pamphlets to raise awareness.
All Zonal Assistant Commissioners of HDMC have been tasked with ensuring the effectiveness of this awareness drives.
HDMC is the second largest municipal corporation in Karnataka after Bengaluru. The number of wards has increased from 67 to 82. Former Judge Subhash Adi suggested to organise an awareness drive on the segregation of waste.
