BWSSB Chamber Collapse Causes Road Closure Near Sai Baba Temple Junction

Arakere road closed near Sai Baba Temple after BWSSB chamber collapse, commuters advised to use alternative routes.

BENGALURU

Traffic on Arakere’s BDA 80-feet road near the Sai Baba Temple Junction has been temporarily suspended following the collapse of a BWSSB chamber, resulting in a deep pothole that poses serious safety risks to motorists and pedestrians. The incident has prompted authorities to close the affected section of the road until necessary repairs are completed.

Officials from the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) along with local municipal authorities rushed to the site to assess the damage and take immediate safety measures. Barricades have been placed around the affected area, and warning signs have been installed to alert commuters.

The collapse has led to slow-moving traffic in the surrounding areas, causing inconvenience to daily commuters. Vehicle owners and public transport users have been advised to use alternate routes while the road remains closed for safety reasons. Traffic police personnel are also deployed to manage the flow of vehicles and ensure smooth movement in adjacent streets.

Authorities have stated that repair work will begin shortly, including filling the collapsed chamber, reinforcing the road structure, and ensuring proper drainage to prevent similar incidents in the future. Residents and commuters have been requested to exercise caution in the area and avoid the site until it is declared safe.

The temporary closure highlights the ongoing need for regular maintenance and monitoring of underground utilities and public infrastructure in Bengaluru, especially in high-traffic zones. Officials have assured that steps are being taken to prevent such incidents and maintain public safety on major city roads.

Motorists are urged to remain patient, follow traffic advisories, and prioritize safety while authorities work diligently to restore normal traffic conditions on Arakere’s BDA 80-feet road.
