Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar visits Hero Halli Lake, reviewing maintenance and development plans with officials.

Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru City Development Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar conducted an on-site inspection of Hero Halli Lake located in the Yeshwanthapura Assembly Constituency. The visit aimed to assess the current state of the lake, discuss ongoing maintenance work, and evaluate plans for future development and beautification initiatives in the area.
During the inspection, local MLA Shri S.T. Somasekhar accompanied the Deputy CM, providing insights into the concerns of the local residents and the challenges faced in maintaining the lake’s ecological balance. The inspection also included the Chief Commissioner Shri Maheshwar Rao and West City Corporation Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V., along with other officials from relevant municipal and environmental departments.
Officials briefed the Deputy CM on measures undertaken to clean the lake, manage water quality, and prevent encroachments along the banks. The focus of the discussion included improving recreational facilities, ensuring proper waste management, and implementing sustainable measures to preserve the lake’s biodiversity.
Shivakumar emphasized the importance of urban lakes as critical water bodies that not only enhance the city’s environmental quality but also provide spaces for community engagement and recreation. He instructed the officials to fast-track the ongoing projects and ensure that the development work aligns with ecological guidelines.
The Deputy CM also assured that the state government would provide necessary support and funding for the rejuvenation of Hero Halli Lake. Local residents welcomed the inspection, expressing hope that the efforts would lead to a cleaner, safer, and more accessible water body that could be enjoyed by the community while supporting the area’s environmental sustainability.
