Kannada superstar Yash is very rarely seen out and about in public and when he does, it somehow becomes an avenue to address all speculation about him, his films and what not. The Rocking Star was at the opening of a new gym in Bengaluru on Valentine’s Day, when the media seized the opportunity to talk to him about the supposed big casting coup in his upcoming film Toxic.
Some days ago, social media was abuzz with a rumour that Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan had been roped in for a pivotal cameo in the Geethu Mohandas directed Toxic. Rubbishing these reports, Yash said that he’s also been hearing about all the speculation surrounding the project and assured that he himself will make appropriate announcements as and when the time’s right. The news about Shah Rukh being in the film is not true, he asserted.
The other rumour that has been doing the rounds is about Yash being a part of Prashant Varma’s HanuMan sequel Jai Hanuman. Reports had indicated that the Kannada superstar would play Lord Hanuman in the film, and while sources had debunked this, Yash himself has said that there is no truth to these rumours, and that he is focused on getting Toxic on the road. Pre-production work is on in full swing, he asserted.
As of now, Yash is also linked to Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, in which he is supposedly playing Ravana, but that too is yet to be officially announced. In the past, whenever Yash has been asked about the possibility of him working in projects in other languages, he has always maintained that he was looking at bringing people from those industries to Kannada cinema instead. Case in point being the rumoured casting of Shruti Haasan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in Toxic.
