Tragic Toll Rises In Gaza As Nasser Medical Complex Faces Dire Conditions

Gaza

In a distressing development, the Gaza Health Ministry reports that 150 Palestinians lost their lives during an Israeli siege on Nasser Medical Complex Hospital in Khan Younis. The spokesperson, Ashraf al-Qedra, expressed the severe challenges faced by the hospital, including a shortage of blood units and depleted anesthesia drugs. Furthermore, al-Qedra highlighted critical issues such as impending fuel shortages, potential generator shutdowns within four days, and damage to water tanks causing leakage into buildings. He alleged that Israel deliberately targets and disables the capabilities of medical facilities during their sieges, hindering ambulance movement. Israel’s military denies these reports, stating they are in contact with the medical staff to ensure hospital operation. The IDF claims no obligation to evacuate the hospitals and attributes their operations in Khan Younis to targeting Hamas militants. The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza has reached 26,257 since October 7, 2023, with 174 Palestinians killed and 310 wounded in the last 24 hours alone. The conflict has left at least 64,797 Palestinians injured, with some still trapped under rubble as rescue crews struggle to reach them. The situation remains dire as the crisis unfolds.
