Karate learners from Aspire Sports Academy here will be participating in the International Level Karate tournament to be held in Sri Lanka from January 19. A total of 18 contestants have been selected from the city. These participants have already won many medals at the national level.
Karate players from six countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Japan, will compete in the event. The competition will be held in the kata and kumite categories. Athletes in the age group of 9-47 years are participating.
Karate player Magadhir said, we will be participating in the international karate tournament to be held in Sri Lanka. We will participate there and make our country proud. We have practiced well for this, he said.Coach Pulakesh Mallya said, our children are selected at district-wise, state and national levels and then deserve to compete at the international level. He has been training extensively for the last one year and has been practicing hard for 6 hours every day. We are expecting good results, he said.
