The richness of the city religiously and culturally is a model for the entire world. Minister for Women and Child Development, Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens and district in-charge Lakshmi R Hebbalkar said that Puthige Seer has established shakha mutts abroad and created awareness about Indian culture.
Speaking at the Puthige Parthotsava programme held at the Rajangana of Sri Krishna Mutt on Wednesday night, the Minister said, I was really surprised to see the alternative programme. The city is culturally rich, she said.
I was reminded of the grandeur of Mysuru Dasara when I saw the procession and programme held as part of the Alternative festival. India is quite rich culturally. The Minister said the country is on the path of becoming a cultural vishwaguru.
Hebbalkar assured that the State Government and the District Administration will extend full cooperation to the alternative festival. I have come with my family so that I don’t miss the unique opportunity to participate in the festival. The city, a famous pilgrimage centre in the country, has many features. I have the privilege of serving as the Minister in-charge of such a District, he said.Puthige Mutt Seer Sugunendra Theertha Sripada, Junior Yathis Susreendra Theertha Sripada, former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader, MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, Gurme Suresh Shetty and a large number of devotees were present.
