The government has started a project to help the rice donors in Gangavati taluk of district, the rice granary of Karnataka. For the first time, the state government through the agriculture department has started a hi-tech harvester hub in Koppal district to help the farmers who are facing severe problem of laborers to carry out agricultural activities.
At a cost of around Rs 80 lakh, a hub of machinery mainly required for paddy harvesting in agricultural activities including rice harvesting machine, fodder packing machine, grain lifting and drying machine has been launched.
Aim to overcome shortage of agricultural laborers; District In-charge Minister Shivraj Thangadagi inaugurated the district’s first hi-tech harvester machines hub, which was started under the auspices of Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society of Kotaiya Camp, Gangavati Taluk. Speaking later, he said, this part is an irrigated area and farmers grow a lot of rice. This project has been implemented to overcome the shortage of agricultural laborers. In the coming days, it will be discussed at the government level to give more subsidy to rice planting machines.
Bank loan assistance to benefit farmers; Santosh Pattadakal, Assistant Director of Agriculture Department, said, the government has implemented this scheme to solve the problem of agricultural labourers. This scheme is being implemented with an amount of around 80 lakh rupees. The bank has given 70 percent subsidy to the associations and organizations as the farmers cannot afford such expensive machinery privately. It is being facilitated by giving loans, he said.
Later, Joint Director of Agriculture Department TS Rudreshappa, President of Milk Producers Association N Satyanarayan spoke. Guarantee Implementation Committee District President Reddy Srinivasa, PCARD Bank Chairman Doddappa Desai and many others were present.
