An incident has taken place in the city where a group of miscreants beat her to death with an iron rod and a stick. On the basis of the complaint filed in this regard, the Police have registered a case and within a few hours, the two accused have been arrested. It is alleged that the elder sister, who was sitting on the bank of Kote Lake in the city, was dragged and crammed into a shed and assaulted. A brother and sister, residents of Yamanapura, were assaulted. The young woman’s father belongs to a different community and has already died. Both had arrived in the city to apply for the state government’s youth fund scheme. There is a problem with the server, the service center staff said to come at 3 pm. So, both of them arrived at 1 pm to sit on the shore of Kote Kere for a while. The group of miscreants questioned them about sitting there and attacked the young man. No matter how hard he tried to convince them that we were not lovers, but brother and sister, they did not listen. He also called his uncle and told him that we are his sister. However, a group of more than 15 people had attacked the two separately in a shed in the Kote Lake and assaulted them for about three hours, the victim said. Ex-MLA Sanjay Patil visited the hospital after getting the information and enquired about the assaulted young man and woman. Market Station police visited the incident site and conducted an investigation. The police registered a case and arrested two accused, both of whom are minors. The police have laid a net to arrest the remaining absconders.
