Delhi police sources have revealed that Lalit Jha, the alleged mastermind behind the Parliament security breach, deliberately destroyed five mobile phones as part of efforts to mislead investigators. The police disclosed that Jha initially destroyed the phones of the four accomplices and later disposed of his own before arriving in Delhi. The investigation team has sought information from a cellular company regarding Lalit Jha and the other accused, while actively verifying statements made during the interrogation.

Jha, the fifth accused, burned the mobile phones of his associates and a friend named Mahesh in Kuchaman, Rajasthan, where he sought refuge after the incident. Prior to the breach, the accused handed over their phones to Jha to prevent crucial details from falling into police hands, anticipating their imminent arrest. Jha, who filmed his accomplices outside the parliament, met Mahesh through Facebook, and the police are scrutinizing the veracity of their claims.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police informed the Patiala House Court that Jha revealed details of multiple meetings among the accused to plan and execute the conspiracy. During his court appearance, the police stated that Jha confessed to the group’s intention to create anarchy in the country, aiming to force the government to meet their demands. The investigation team remains vigilant in cross-verifying the information provided by Jha and other accused individuals.
