The Federation Badminton League 2023 tournament kicked off with great enthusiasm and a focus on the significance of sports and wellness. MLA ST Somasekhar, at the inauguration held at the Satellite Academy Club’s indoor stadium, emphasized the vital role of sports and yoga in fostering good health among athletes. Addressing the gathering, Somasekhar highlighted that irrespective of age, engaging in sports activities contributes significantly to overall fitness. He commended the efforts of sports managers in nurturing and encouraging athletes of all ages, underscoring the importance of holistic development in sportsmanship. Adding to the discourse, Srivatsa, the managing director of sports, underscored the essence of balanced perspectives in sports. He emphasized that in the realm of sports, acknowledging both victory and defeat equally is pivotal for achieving success. The badminton event witnessed a remarkable participation of over 500 teams across different age categories, ranging from under 13 years to above 51 years. Former Bangalore City Zilla Panchayat member Shivamadiah, Hanumante Gowda, BJP General Secretary Vajrahalli Sasikumar, Congress Block President Amrit Gowda, Disha Committee Member Tataguni Ramakrishna, and several other prominent figures graced the occasion. Their presence not only endorsed the importance of such sporting events but also highlighted the community’s support and encouragement for aspiring and seasoned athletes alike.
