Compensation Announced For Families Of Bihar Workers Killed In Tank Incident

In the aftermath of the tragic incident in Vijayapura’s Aliabad industrial area, where seven Bihar workers lost their lives due to the collapse of series pillars of a tank filled with maize, Large and Medium Industries and District In-charge Minister M. B. Patil announced compensation measures. Rajaguru Foods owner Kishore Jain has agreed to provide ₹5 lakh each as compensation to the families of the deceased workers, while the state government will contribute ₹2 lakh each. Additionally, the injured worker undergoing treatment at the district hospital will receive ₹50,000 in compensation. Minister Patil shared that the bodies of the deceased workers would be airlifted from either Belgaum or Kulburgi Airport to Patna, the capital of Bihar, and delivered to their respective homes. Expressing gratitude, Minister Patil thanked the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire brigade, police, and district administration for their efforts in the rescue operation. Looking forward, Minister Patil stated that necessary measures would be taken to ensure safety in factories across the state. District Collector T. Bhubalan, District Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonavan, and District Panchayat CEO Rahul Shinde were present during the announcement.
