Lokayukta Justice BS Patil called upon the officials of various government departments to respond to the pleas of the people within legal framework without wasting any time.
Chairing a meeting to review the performance of various departments in district at the ZP meeting hall, he said district should set an example as a model district by providing good governance.
He asked the district level heads of the departments to constitute internal vigilance teams to keep a watch on the performance of the employees.
Justice Patil pointed out that there were complaints against the land records and survey department, DDPI office, Police, Excise and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj departments regarding delay in disposal of files, corruption and irregularities.
The Lokayukta sought details from HDMC Commissioner Ishwar Ullagaddi regarding the measures taken to keep the cities clean and asked him the follow Indore model in collection and disposal of waste and preparation of organic manure.
Justice Patil stated that he had received many complaints about the agents’ menace at the offices of survey and land records department, Tahsildar and Sub-Registrar and warned the officers that they will be in trouble if the agents collect money in the name of the officers.
He directed the Excise Deputy Commissioner Manjunath to take stringent action against illegal sale of liquor in the district.
Expressing displeasure over the pathetic condition of government hospitals and primary health centres, Justice Patil said the doctors and staff are irregular and go out for private practice during working hours.
Deputy Commissioner Gurudatt Hegde, Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar, Superintendent of Police Gopal Byakod, ZP CEO TK Swaroop, DCF Sonal Vrushni, Lokayukta SP Satish Chitaguppi and others were present.
