Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, who has been holding phone-in programmes in the city to address the grievances of people, said that he will commence Janaspandana programmes for 60 wards of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) in December.
Shetty said  that an inaugural function for the Janaspandana programmes will be held at the Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall in the city in December, and thereafter zone-wise grievance meetings will be held to reach out to people.

At the phone-in programme, a caller had complained that he was not able to talk to him in the past programmes. In reply, the mayor announced the Janaspandana programme from December.
A caller raised a complaint about the bus bay at Light House Hill Road that has been closed while laying a footpath by the Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL).

The Mayor said a spot inspection will be conducted to solve the issue.
To a demand made by caller Nemu Kottari to prevent seepage of sewage into Gujjarakere, which was rejuvenated recently, the Mayor said that the MCC could not find the source of it. Officials failed to find out the source of the seepage that enters the lake. I will conduct a spot visit along with officials from the MSCL, he said.
Social activist Gerald Towers complained that contractors are not displaying boards mentioning the details of work and contact numbers, while carrying out development works in the city.

When a caller brought to the notice of an automobile workshop about dumping old vehicles on either side of the road near the crematorium in Nandigudda, the Mayor said that a notice would be served on the owner.
