Minister of Women and Child Development Lakshmi R Hebbalkar has said that the dreams of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru should be realised by the children of today’s generation and everyone should be able to walk on a better path. Speaking as the chief guest at the Children’s Day programme held on Thursday at Bala Bhavan in Cubbon Park, the Minister said that India is growing prosperous in the world. The whole world is looking towards India. He said that the reason for this is today’s youth.
The Minister said that the parents should also bring up the children in a good manner and should tell the children about great people like Nehru and Gandhiji. There are many schemes in the women’s department and various facilities are being provided to children to increase their nutrition. The minister said that parents and children should take advantage of this.
Girls are known for discipline, they are disciplined in any event. Every year in SSCLC and PUC examinations, girls have been dominating. Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar said that we can see more women in the officers category as well. Shaurya Award for Children, State Award to organizations and individuals for outstanding service in the field of child welfare.
Dr. GC Prakash, Secretary of Women and Child Welfare Department, Director MS Archana, Managing Director of the Department Pushpalatha, Secretary of Balabhavan Nischal and other officials of the department and hundreds of children participated.
