Bengaluru Kambala, Buffaloes To Leave Dakshina Kannada District In Procession

The countdown for Bengaluru Kambala has already begun and everyone is curious about it. Kambala, a folk sport from the coastal districts, is being held for the first time in the state capital Bengaluru. The buffaloes from Dakshina Kannada district will take out a procession to Kambala in Bengaluru.

The buffaloes participating in Bengaluru Kambala will leave from Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday. The  buffaloes of Kambala will go together from Uppinangadi in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. So far, 150 people have registered to participate in the Bengaluru Kambala. In this context, 150 pairs of buffaloes will leave from Dakshina Kannada district.

It has been decided to take the Kambala buffaloes from Uppinangady at 9 am. The buffaloes are taken to Bengaluru in vehicles. On the way, the buffaloes will rest in Hassan and hold a meeting there and then proceed to Bengaluru.

Dakshina Kannada District Kambala Samiti President Deviprasad Shetty said, the owners of 150 pairs of buffaloes have registered to participate in the Kambala at Bengaluru. The buffaloes will be taken to Bengaluru from Uppinangady on Thursday morning. In addition, 1 tanker of water for buffaloes will be transported from Mangaluru. The ambulance will be accompanied by veterinary doctors, he said.

  For the first time, at least 3-5 lakh people are expected to attend the  Kambala, which will be held in Bengaluru. Necessary preparations are being made in the background. The decision was taken at a massive consultative meeting with various caste and language organisations from the coastal areas at the Bunts Association in Bengaluru to prepare for the Bengaluru Kambala to be held at the Palace Grounds from November 24 to 26.
