Establishing, building an institution and ensuring its growth in size and stature over the years demand tremendous effort and sacrifice by several people and it is the duty of the present managers to remember the services rendered by their predecessors with gratitude, said Deputy Commissioner Gurudatt Hegde.
Speaking after releasing the book Reminiscences as DDLTA Secretary penned by Dr Krishna Tavargeri at the District Lawn Tennis Association’s Rajadhyakha Pavilion here, Hegde said it is important to document the happenings in an institution so that the future generation will know its history and heritage.
He hailed Dr Krishna’s efforts in recording the major developments that took place during the author’s tenure as the secretary of DDLTA established in 1937.
Senior Tennis Player Prabhakar Kulkarni, Superintendent of Police Gopal Byakod, HDMC Commissioner Ishwar Ullagaddi, DCF Yateesh, HDUDA Commissioner Santosh Biradar, DDLTA Secretary Sandeep Banavi were the special guests.
Veteran Tennis Player Dr Madanmohan Tavargeri presided over the function. Dr Krishna Tavargeri recalled the help rendered by several dignitaries in reviving the tennis complex during his tenure as DDLTA Secretary. Several veteran tennis players were present on the occasion.
