Dengue Cases Rise In Bangladesh, Six More Deaths Reported

Bangladesh has recorded 1,291 new cases of dengue and reported six additional deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The total number of dengue cases in the country has reached 301,225 since January, with a death toll of 1,549. In November alone, 201 deaths have been reported. The DGHS indicated that 30,080 new cases were recorded this month, following 67,769 infections in October. The total number of recovered patients stands at 294,757, including 1,522 new recoveries. Bangladesh experienced a peak in dengue cases in September, with 79,598 new infections and 396 deaths reported. Dengue fever is transmitted through the bite of an Aedes mosquito, causing acute illness with symptoms such as headache, high fever, muscle and joint pain, and rash.
