The health condition of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has improved, with doctors describing him as “stable and cheerful”. The 92-year-old JD(S) leader was hospitalised at Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, on October 6, 2025, due to fever and a urinary tract infection.
According to a medical bulletin issued by Dr H Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman of Manipal Hospitals, Deve Gowda was evaluated and treated by a team of specialists, and his condition has shown marked improvement. He is currently being monitored in a regular ward.
The bulletin stated, “Our honourable former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda was admitted for evaluation and management of fever and urinary tract infection. He is now stable, cheerful, and under continuous observation in a regular ward.”
The former Prime Minister has remained politically active, addressing a press conference at the JD(S) office on October 3, 2025, just days before his hospitalisation.
On Friday, Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of Sri Adichunchanagiri Math visited Deve Gowda at the hospital to inquire about his well-being, reflecting the respect and concern he continues to command across political and spiritual circles.
The hospital confirmed that no complications have arisen and that Deve Gowda is expected to continue his recovery under regular medical supervision, reassuring supporters and party members of his steady health.
