Bengaluru

Tragedy struck once again in Bengaluru as a speeding BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus collided with a motorcycle at Binnamangala near Nelamangala on Saturday, resulting in the tragic death of the motorcycle rider at the scene. Sources close to the incident revealed that the BMTC bus rear-ended the two-wheeler, causing the biker to lose control and fall to the ground, succumbing to the injuries sustained in the collision. The Nelamangala traffic police swiftly responded to the scene, registering a case to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. This unfortunate incident follows a recent fatality involving a BMTC bus, where an engineering student named Gangadhar (21) lost his life near Govardhan theatre in Yeshwantpur. Gangadhar was en route to obtain his internship certificate from HAL when he was involved in an accident with a BMTC bus. Tragically, the bus struck the two-wheeler from behind, leading to the untimely demise of the young student. Moreover, prior to these incidents, another distressing accident involving a BMTC bus transpired as it collided with a two-wheeler from behind, causing the immediate and tragic death of a three-year-old child at Garepalaya Junction in the city. In the wake of these successive accidents involving BMTC buses, the citizens of Bengaluru have expressed their growing concerns and frustration, attributing overspeeding by BMTC drivers as a significant contributing factor to such tragic incidents. Authorities and the public are increasingly emphasizing the importance of road safety and the need for stringent measures to curb reckless driving and prevent further loss of life on the city’s streets.
