Ahmedabad Police And DRI Seize Narcotics Valued At Rs 150 Crore In Joint Operation, Arrest Three

In a coordinated operation, the Ahmedabad police and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have confiscated narcotics with an estimated worth of Rs 150 crore and apprehended three individuals in the neighboring state of Maharashtra, as reported by an official on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) in Ahmedabad, Chaitanya Mandlik, revealed that the Crime Branch and DRI collaborated in the operation, which led to the seizure of cocaine, mephedrone (MD), and ketamine from two factories and several residences in Aurangabad district, Maharashtra. Mandlik commented, The DRI Pune and Ahmedabad Crime Branch conducted a joint operation in Aurangabad, where we uncovered two factories and several residences, and impounded drugs valued at Rs 150 crore. The street value of the confiscated contraband is estimated to be three to four times higher in international markets. The crackdown on the drug network was initiated based on intelligence received by the Crime Branch. Three individuals have been taken into custody, and the DRI has initiated legal proceedings. Cocaine, a potent central nervous system stimulant, and MD and ketamine, known as party drugs, are all banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
