The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has made a significant breakthrough in the high-profile case involving the impersonation of traffic police officers in a heist where a Pan Bahar Pvt Ltd employee was robbed of Rs 50 lakh. Two individuals, identified as Mahender from Alwar, Rajasthan, and Sandeep alias Chetan from Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, have been apprehended in connection with the crime.

According to authorities, the incident unfolded on October 12 when the victim was waylaid by two individuals posing as traffic policemen near the Salim Garh flyover on the Outer Ring Road. With the use of a wireless set and a traffic police uniform, they managed to gain access to the trunk of the victim’s car, from which they seized the substantial amount of cash. The diligent efforts of the Crime Branch, involving meticulous technical analysis and extensive raids in Delhi, UP, and Rajasthan, culminated in the arrest of the two suspects. Further investigations revealed a complex network of associates, including the alleged mastermind, Harender, who is reportedly a teacher at a government-aided school in Delhi. The recovered evidence, including stolen motorcycles, police uniforms, face masks adorned with the Delhi Police logo, a toy wireless set, and other incriminating items, shed light on the intricacies of the planned heist.
