Must read

Haveri

We have often seen painters drawing on a brush with the help of their fingers. Some people draw with brushes in their fingers. Still others even draw with the help of their noses. But there is a different young artist in Hosuritti village. This artist named Chennabasappa Thoppala does not paint with a brush like everyone else. Instead, he paints with his tongue as a brush. The 18-year-old uses black the most. This young man, who white canvases, paints pictures as he watches.

On the wall, this young man paints with a white sheet on his lap. Pictures of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, actor Rajkumar, late actor Puneeth Rajkumar, Mother Teresa, footballer Messi and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and many others have blossomed from his tongue. The artist also paints using a brush with his hand.

Another of his experiments is to draw with a brush with his head down. He also paints with a brush in his leg. The artist also painted using spoons and cooker handles. Chennabasappa gives first priority to images of Gods. Chennabasappa has painted various paintings including Eshwara, Anjaneya, Parameshwara, Buddha, Sri Rama etc.

This young man, who is in extreme poverty, aspires to achieve unprecedented feats in painting. He wants to be a good artist. Initially, people were surprised to see him painting on his tongue. We are proud to have such an artist. KC Kori, a villager, said locals were coming forward to help him with his painting.
