Hubli

The Panchamasali Samaj’s demand for 2A reservation continues, with protests taking place in various districts. Basavajaya Mrityunjaya Swamiji of Kudalasangama Panchamasali Peeth has urged the government to fulfill their demand before the protests spread to the remaining 25 districts. Swamiji led a protest by blocking the Pune-Bangalore highway near Gabbur Cross in Hubli. During the protest, an Ishtalinga Puja was performed. He emphasized that they have been advocating for reservation for three years and, if the government doesn’t act on their demand, they plan to continue their protests, even reaching Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belgaum to intensify their struggle. Swamiji noted that while the previous Chief Minister, Basavaraja Bommai, announced 2D reservation, it was not realized due to the election code of conduct coming into effect immediately. He expressed disappointment that the current Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has not been responsive to their request.
