Kalaburgi
The sheds constructed illegally on the land belonging to Kalaburgi Municipal Corporation (KMC) were removed by the leadership of officials under Police protection. More than 9 families have been living in ward number 3 of property number 23/44 of GDA Ashraya Colony in the corporation limits for several years. But the residents, who were living in an empty space without a roof, had dinner with the children and slept. However, on the morning, the JCB started roaring in front of the house and the sheds were demolished. The lives of those who lost their homes in Operation Demalish came to the streets and they cried in front of the authorities.The poor families, who had illegally constructed houses, had appealed to the concerned authorities, including MP Umesh Jadhav, to issue title deeds. Even if we work since morning, I earn Rs. 50-100. There is a situation where children are fed from the day’s earnings, otherwise everyone is fasting. We live here even though it is raining. But now they have suddenly come and broken the house, the residents said.
