Sanjay Singh’s Arrest: Security Beefed Up Outside ED Headquarters

New Delhi

Following the arrest of Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its probe into the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy case, the Delhi Police have heightened security measures outside the ED’s headquarters in the national capital. This move comes in anticipation of potential protests by AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) workers in response to Singh’s arrest.

A senior police officer stated: We have deployed police as a precautionary measure and to maintain law and order.

Sanjay Singh is the second high-ranking AAP leader to be arrested in connection with the alleged liquor scam case, with former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia having been arrested by the CBI in February and subsequently by the ED in March. The ED has filed four charge sheets in the case, and Singh’s name has been mentioned in them. The ED’s money laundering case is based on a CBI FIR filed last year in August, which was related to alleged irregularities in the excise policy case.

The arrest of Sanjay Singh and other AAP leaders has intensified the political and legal challenges facing the party and its leadership. The outcome of these cases could have significant implications for the political landscape in Delhi and beyond.
