CM Siddaramaiah slams BJP over five guarantee schemes

Belagavi

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday accused the BJP of being restless over the Congress government’s popular ‘five guarantee schemes.’ He said the BJP is trying to mislead people with false claims.

Responding to BJP leaders’ allegations that the state government used National Disaster Response Funds (NDRF), which affected flood relief work and delayed compensation payments to flood victims, Siddaramaiah denied these charges.

He clarified, “We never used NDRF for our guarantee schemes.” Siddaramaiah added that the BJP seems disturbed by the success of these schemes and called them “like jaundice” to the BJP.

The Chief Minister further claimed that BJP-ruled states like Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana have started copying the Congress’s five guarantee scheme model.

Siddaramaiah made these remarks during a press briefing in Belagavi. He emphasized that the Congress government remains committed to fulfilling its promises despite political attacks and urged people to focus on the benefits of the schemes rather than BJP’s criticisms.
