A tragic incident occurred in Assam’s Chirang district as a 20-year-old youth lost his life after being struck by lightning while sleeping in his home. This unfortunate incident took place on Thursday night in the Ankorbari area, which had experienced heavy rainfall earlier in the day. The young man has been identified as Bijoy Maduwa. His family members discovered his lifeless body on Friday morning and promptly alerted the authorities, including the police and health department. Maduwa was rushed to a nearby hospital, but sadly, the medical professionals declared him brought dead upon examination. In accordance with standard procedures, the body was sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers posed by lightning strikes, especially during severe weather conditions. Earlier this year, in Tinsukia district, another heartbreaking incident occurred when a woman and her daughter lost their lives due to lightning strikes during heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
