Ramalingeshwar Nagar of Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) Ward No. 30 is facing numerous problems. There are no good roads or proper drainage systems, and the colony is deprived of a proper water supply and other basic facilities. Two roads near Ramalingeshwar temple are in a poor condition.
Pedestrians find it difficult to walk easily on both sides of the road during rainy days. Due to the negligence of HDMC officials, who were supposed to construct a good road before the rainy season, motorists are facing severe problems. Two senior citizens sustained injuries due to the bad condition of the road while walking.
According to sources, the area is located about 5 kms from the centre of the city. It was formed 20 years ago and around 2,000 people live in this area. The area has three manholes that are always overflowing. There is no proper drainage system. As many senior citizens live in this area, elderly women who cannot risk venturing out during night hours have urged to solve the problems immediately.
B Ravi, a resident of Ramalingeshwar Nagar, said the residents who were expecting the are to be developed are disappointed. Bad roads in the area have caused problems for children, women and the elderly. People are worried about walking on these roads. Two residents who went for a walk fell and broke their legs and are confined to bed, he added.
Corporator of HDMC Ward No. 30 Ramappa Badigeri said that all the roads were constructed but two roads were left out due to the site problem. After solving it, the Cement Concrete roads will be constructed, he assured.
