The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has unveiled the final roster of players who will proudly represent India in the forthcoming Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC) T20 World Cup 2023. The esteemed event is scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from December 1 to December 12, 2023. Leading the team is Captain Virendra Singh, who aims to bring the coveted trophy home. The IDCA committee has meticulously selected a squad of 15 players, who are all set to compete on the international stage against teams from eight nations. The pinnacle event will witness 28 matches over a span of 12 days and nights at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha. Sumit Jain, President of the IDCA, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming World Cup championship, highlighting the team’s readiness and determination. Having clinched victory in the 2022 tournament, the Indian team is poised to make India proud once again. Jain also extended his gratitude to the support partners for their steadfast commitment to promoting sports among specially-abled individuals. Their unwavering support serves as a motivating force for aspiring athletes in India. The selection committee, led by Dev Dutt (Coach), included Ajay Kumar (General Secretary of IDCA), Manish Goel (Treasurer of IDCA), Vinod Kumar Matta (Chief Selector), Ashok Kumar (Selector), and Manoj Singh (Selector). This diverse panel ensured a thorough and thoughtful selection process. With the backing of support partners like KFC India, Hero MotoCorp, Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd, Impact Research and Measurement, and Kaizzen, the specially-abled Indian cricket team is gearing up to showcase their talents and determination on the grand stage of the DICC T20 World Cup 2023.
