A joint operation carried out by the Gaya police, Special Task Force (STF), and CRPF Cobra battalion has successfully thwarted a major Maoist attack in the district by seizing 13,800 detonators and other ammunition. The operation also resulted in the discovery of three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in the mountainous area of Pandara village under the jurisdiction of Latua police station. Acting on information about the presence of a rifle and live cartridges in the Pandara mountain range, a joint team led by Additional SP Operation of Gaya police, STF, and CRPF Cobra battalion initiated the search operation on Monday. The thorough search revealed 46 packets containing 13,800 detonators stored in five plastic bags. Additionally, the team located and safely defused three IEDs at the same location. Aashish Bharti, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Gaya, stated that the operation also resulted in the seizure of two basic phones, two walkie-talkies, four bundles of cordex wire, black Naxal uniforms, and various other arms and ammunition. The successful operation has effectively disrupted a potential Maoist attack, showcasing the effectiveness of collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies in maintaining security and countering threats posed by such groups.
