West Ham United has officially announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus from the Dutch football club Ajax. The 23-year-old midfielder, who will wear the No 14 shirt, has agreed to a five-year contract with West Ham. This signing marks West Ham’s fourth senior addition of the summer transfer window. Expressing his excitement about joining the Premier League club, Kudus said, I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid. I’ve been dreaming of this moment and I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going. Kudus is known for his attacking prowess and aims to entertain the fans with his performances. He stated, I try my best to entertain the fans as I think that’s what football is all about. I’m just here to do my best and help the team. I’m really happy to be here. I will fight for the badge. I can’t wait to get started. The signing of Kudus was highly competitive, with West Ham facing off against some of Europe’s top clubs to secure the services of the talented Ghanaian international attacker. Kudus impressed last season, scoring six goals in the UEFA Champions League and contributing significantly to Ajax’s success in the Dutch league. Starting his professional career at Nordsjaelland in 2018, Kudus moved to Ajax in 2020, where he continued to shine with 27 goals in 87 appearances. His strong performances helped Ajax secure two Dutch league titles during his time there. Kudus scored 11 goals in 30 Eredivisie appearances last season, playing a crucial role in Ajax’s third-place finish.
