Veteran left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal, currently undergoing rehabilitation for a back injury, remains optimistic about his recovery and his availability for Bangladesh’s campaign in the Men’s ODI World Cup in India. Tamim, who is not part of Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, has been focusing on his rehab program to overcome his long-standing back injury. He aims to be fit for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand and hopes to participate in the Men’s ODI World Cup. Expressing his progress, Tamim stated, The way my plan is set, we are right on track. I am quite happy with the outcome till now, and I haven’t complained about back pain yet. There is no sign of major pain since taking the injection. He added that his rehab is going well, and he is expected to resume full-fledged training from September 7, which is two weeks before the ODI series against New Zealand. This timing aligns with the two-day window after the deadline to announce Men’s ODI World Cup squad. Tamim emphasized the importance of proper net sessions in his preparation, stating, It’s important to have proper 10 days of net sessions. I have played for so long that I don’t think matches will be a big problem for me. His dedication to recovery and his determination to be fit for the upcoming ODI matches, including the Men’s ODI World Cup, highlight his commitment to representing Bangladesh at the highest level of cricket.
