Must read

A significant fire broke out on the Udyan Express Train, stationed at the Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station (KSR) near Bangalore’s bustling Majestic area. The fire originated in a railway engine due to technical complications and subsequently spread to two adjacent coaches, sending plumes of smoke into the air. Train No. 11301 Udyan Express had arrived at Platform No. 3 of the Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station around 5:45 am. Around 7:10 am, smoke was observed billowing from the B1 and B2 coaches. Swift action was taken, with a distress call promptly placed to the fire brigade. Responders from the fire brigade arrived at 7:35 am and managed to douse the flames. Fortunately, the train was unoccupied during the incident, thus averting a potentially catastrophic disaster. The incident created a blanket of thick smoke that engulfed the Majestic area, encompassing both the railway station and the Majestic bus station. The sudden blaze cast a pall over the vicinity, leading to a concerted effort by firefighters to contain the situation. The train had initially arrived at KSR station at 6 am, with the fire emerging at approximately 7:30 am. In a swift response, railway authorities managed to detach the unaffected coaches from those engulfed in flames, ensuring the safety of both passengers and property. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, and the fire’s impact on neighboring trains was reportedly minimal. While investigations into the incident are ongoing, preliminary findings point to a technical malfunction as the catalyst for the fire. Railway Superintendent of Police Soumyalata informed media personnel that the precise cause would be determined through the investigative process.
