Filmmaker Manu Sudhakar, who had earlier directed Sandwich and 10.30 am Local Call, has just completed filming his third project.
The movie, titled Boomerang, has Shine Tom Chacko, Samyuktha Menon, Chemban Vinod, Dain Davis and Baiju Santhosh in the pivotal roles. It is scripted by Krishnadas Panki.
All of these actors play characters with equal prominence in the film, says director Manu. He explains, “The film shows how social media impacts our lives and the various ways in which it is misused. It also presents how one person’s action can also have a domino effect on others’ lives. It is a fictional story, inspired by real-life incidents.”
As for the characters played by the actors, Manu reveals, “Samyuktha’s character is a regular youngster who works in a company. Baiju’s character Kuriakose achayan is a rich man whose wife and daughter live in Canada, while he leads a lavish, ‘bachelorish’ life in Kerala and has all sorts of problems in life, due to the same. He also brags, quite a bit.
Chemban’s character, a cop, is also passionate about acting, though he hardly has the skill. His wife also hates his interest in the same.” A highly ambitious character is essayed by Shine Tom, says the director. “He comes from a lower middle-class background. He is a marketing executive in a private bank and his ultimate aim is to make money. Dain’s character is a BTech holder who works as a sales manager in a car showroom and is constantly on the lookout for a job,” he adds. The film’s final editing is currently going on.
