Ace Tollywood director Sarath passes away

Veteran Tollywood director Sarath breathed his last on Friday morning at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was reportedly suffering from cancer. The director was admitted to the hospital a few days ago, where he passes away this morning.
Sarath made his debut as a director with ‘Chadastapu Mogudu’ (1986), which was based on a novel named ‘Dear’. The film starred Suman and Bhanupriya in the lead roles. He made a name for himself as a talented director with the 1989 film ‘Agni Nakshatram’ starring Shobhan Babu, Mohan Babu and Kalyan Chakravarthy Nandamuri. But the film did not meet with the expectations. After that, Sarath hit the success track again with the 1991 movie ‘Peddintalludu’ starring Suman, Nagma, Mohan Babu and Vanisri. He became a successful director and has never looked back.
Sarath mostly directed films with Suman and Nandamuri Balakrishna. He is a virtuoso in making action films, especially in family background. The ace director gave many hit movies such as ‘Pedda Annayya’, ‘Super Mogudu’, ‘Peddintalludu’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Abbai Gari Pelli’, ‘Vamshaniki Okkadu’, ‘Chinna Alludu’ and to name a few. In total, he made eight films with Suman and four with Balayya. Overall, he has directed up to twenty Telugu films in his two-decade-long career.
Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna expressed his deepest condolences over the sudden demise of Sarath.
His tight screenplay and direction skills made him an ace director right from his directorial debut. Also, because of his directorial skills, he got a chance to direct Nandamuri Balakrishna. The films directed by him were a super hit at the box office. The Telugu film industry is mourning the sudden demise of the filmmaker Sarath. The renowned director’s last riots will be performed on Saturday at Maha Prasthanam at 11 am.
