The Bengaluru Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions and diversions in parts of the city ahead of Ganesha idol immersion processions scheduled for September 18.
The procession will pass through the KG Halli and Pulakeshinagar traffic police limits from 11 am on September 18 until 4 am on September 19. Another procession will be held in Lingarajapuram and Banaswadi areas from 11 am to 10 pm on Friday and will conclude at Halasuru Lake.
Traffic restrictions will affect Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Road and Davis Road, besides routes connecting Netaji Junction, Pottery Circle, Clark Road, Rogers Road, Armstrong Road and Hall Road towards Pottery Road.
Movement from Mosque Junction through Clarence Bridge towards Pottery Road will also be restricted. Vehicles from Lazar Road and Pottery Road Junction towards Sindhi Colony Junction will be diverted via Buddhavihara Road.
Two-way traffic on Assaye Road will be changed to one-way movement from War Memorial Junction towards Sindhi Colony Junction. Vehicle movement between Nagawara Junction and Pottery Circle Road will also be blocked.
In Banaswadi, restrictions will be imposed on routes from Chandrika Junction and Lingarajapuram towards the city via Hennur Bridge. Traffic from Chandrika Junction towards Nehru Road, Ullasappa Junction and Kuvempu Circle, and from Kalyan Nagar 80 Feet Road towards Uttam Sagar Junction, will also be affected. Vehicles from Banaswadi Main Road towards the city will be diverted via IOC Bridge.
Meanwhile, immersion at the Yediyur Lake tank will remain suspended on September 18 and 22 for cleaning and refilling. Public entry will also be restricted during the work.
