Private school managements have urged education authorities to shut down unauthorised coaching centres, alleging they disrupt school education and operate without official permission
Bidar
The Unaided Private School Management Association has submitted a memorandum to the Block Education Officer (BEO), demanding immediate action against coaching centres allegedly operating without permission in Aurad and Kamalnagar taluks. The association claimed these centres are violating education rules and affecting the normal functioning of recognised schools.
According to the memorandum, several coaching centres are conducting classes without approval from the Education Department. The association alleged that these centres hold classes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Some of them are also providing residential facilities for students. School managements said these activities are reducing student attendance in regular schools and disturbing the formal teaching and learning process.
The association urged the Education Department to carry out inspections of all such coaching centres and verify whether they have obtained the required permissions. It also demanded strict legal action against institutions found operating illegally, especially those conducting classes during regular school hours.
Office-bearers warned that if the authorities fail to take prompt action, they will organise a dharna in front of the Block Education Officer’s office to press for their demands. They said illegal coaching centres should not be allowed to function at the cost of recognised educational institutions and students’ academic interests.
Those present while submitting the memorandum included Taluk President Gurunath Deshmukh, Kamalnagar Taluk President Rajkumar Hambalpure, Secretary Krishna Patil, Vice-President Lakshmikant Achigave, Aurad Taluk Vice-President Basavaraj Shatkar, and office-bearers Balaji Firange, Jaivant Ujani, Suryakant Biradar, Nagasenrao Tare, Sanju Mudhol, Sanju Kantale, Bhimashankar Jirge, Basavaraj Anadure, Sunilkumar Konagutte and Rajashekhar Santpur. The association expressed hope that the Education Department would act quickly to protect the interests of students and recognised schools in both taluks.
