Meanwhile, the Uttara Kannada District Police launched an awareness campaign against drug use and supply as part of International Anti-Drug Week. The programme was organised by the Karwar Sub-Division Police and Karwar City Police Station at the Mayura Varma Forum.

District Superintendent of Police Deepan M.N. urged young people to stay away from drugs, stating that addiction can destroy dreams and prevent success. He said drug abuse has become a serious threat to society and must be stopped through awareness and strict action.
