The city is gearing up for a grand spiritual celebration as part of the Sri Mad Yogishwara Yajnavalkya Jayanti. This year marks the 50th golden jubilee of the recitation of the unpublished Leelagranth, a significant literary work honoring Sri Shivachidambara Mahaswamy.

The festivities begin on June 23, when the Kanva Mathadhis, Sri 1008 Vidyakannavirajatirtha Sripadangal, arrives in the city. At 4 pm, the religious leader will be greeted with a traditional Poorna Kumbha and Veda Ghosha. The evening schedule includes soulful bhajan sessions at 6 pm, followed by the Sri Vitthal Krishna Thottilotsava service at 8 pm. Devotees will receive blessings at 8:30 pm, followed by dinner.

On June 24, celebrations commence early with morning prayers at 5 am. Throughout the day, the temple will host several sacred rituals, including the Panchamrutha Abhishekam, Ganahoma, and special pujas.

The main assembly is scheduled for 10:30 am, where the golden jubilee will be officially inaugurated by the Sri of Kanva Math. Notable guest Basanagouda Patil (Yathnal), MLA and former Union Minister, will attend the event to address the gathering.

The ceremonies continue until late afternoon with a cradle ritual at noon and concluding prayers. The event will wrap up with a traditional bhajan service at 8 pm. The Sri Chidambara Seva Samiti has invited all residents to attend these historic proceedings, receive divine blessings, and join in the distribution of the Mahaprasad to mark this milestone.
