Police in Sirsi arrested two people for selling and transporting ganja near Sri Marikamba Stadium on College Road on the night of June 9 after a tip-off. They were identified as 23-year-old Anand Turimani and his father Hanumantha Bovivaddar. Police seized 217 grams of ganja, Rs 10,400 cash and a mobile phone from them. A case has been registered at Sirsi New Market police station. Police said investigation is continuing and strict action will be taken against drug trafficking in the area to ensure public safety and law enforcement in future cases as well strictly enforced.
