Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine praised his teammates for their dedication and preparation following KKR’s impressive 29-run win over Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2026.
KKR produced a complete all-round display at the Eden Gardens, with explosive batting performances from Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green before Narine led the bowling attack with another impactful spell.
Narine said the team’s success was the result of sustained effort and hard work during training sessions. He expressed confidence that KKR could continue their winning momentum regardless of how the remainder of the tournament unfolds.
“I think it comes with hard work. The guys have been preparing really well and putting in the hard yards, so it’s showing,” Narine said after the victory.
The experienced all-rounder also achieved a major personal milestone during the game, becoming the first overseas player and the 13th cricketer overall to complete 200 appearances in IPL history. Reflecting on the achievement, Narine described the journey as a blessing and hoped to continue contributing to KKR for many more seasons.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane lauded the aggressive approach shown by the batting unit, particularly Finn Allen and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Allen smashed a sensational 93 off just 35 deliveries, while Raghuvanshi struck 82 from 44 balls to put Gujarat Titans under immense pressure early in the innings. Cameron Green further strengthened the innings with an unbeaten 52 off 28 balls as KKR posted a massive total of 247 runs.
Rahane said the team’s intent with the bat played a crucial role in securing the win. He also praised the bowling attack, including Saurabh Dubey and Kartik Tyagi, for defending the target effectively against a strong Gujarat batting lineup.
The victory keeps KKR firmly in contention in the IPL 2026 playoff race while Gujarat Titans suffered another setback in their campaign.
