Raichur
The Karnataka government has appointed Puvitha S., IAS officer of the 2016 batch and Managing Director of KUIDFC, as the new Deputy Commissioner of Raichur district. She replaces Nitish K., a 2015-batch IAS officer, who served in the post since July 2024. During his tenure, Nitish focused on improving sanitation, infrastructure, and administrative efficiency in the district. He initiated cleanliness drives, helped organize an Army recruitment rally, and played a key role in shifting the Deputy Commissioner’s office to a new building. He also worked on tourism development proposals and successfully conducted the Raichur District Festival. With the new appointment, expectations are high for continued progress.
