Caitlin Clark is set to add author to her growing list of achievements, with the WNBA star announcing the release of a new children’s picture book inspired by her own life and journey in basketball.
Publishing house Random House confirmed that Clark’s book, titled EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams, will be released on November 3 through Random House Books for Young Readers.
Written in rhyming verse and illustrated by Adriana Predoi, the book aims to inspire children to pursue their dreams through hard work, determination and support from loved ones. The story is based on a phrase that hung above a mirror in Clark’s childhood bedroom and became an important source of motivation during her rise in basketball.
“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA,” the inspirational quote read.
Clark said the idea behind the book came from her desire to encourage young readers while also acknowledging the importance of family, friends and mentors in achieving success.
“Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who’ve supported me along the way,” Clark said in a statement.
“I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams and that giving a little extra to the people and moments is what makes them EXTRAordinary,” she added.
The 24-year-old guard has become one of the biggest names in women’s basketball and is widely credited with helping raise the popularity and visibility of the WNBA in recent years.
Clark currently plays for the Indiana Fever and recently returned to action after injuries restricted her to just 13 appearances during the 2025 season. She marked her comeback with a preseason appearance against the New York Liberty, scoring seven points in a victory.
The upcoming release of her children’s book is expected to further strengthen Clark’s influence beyond basketball, especially among younger fans inspired by her remarkable rise in the sport.
