Verstappen delays decision, calls rules changes weak

MIAMI

Max Verstappen said he is not rushing to decide his future in Formula One and described recent rule changes as minor. Speaking before the Miami Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver said he still has time to think about what comes next. The four-time world champion has been critical of the sport’s new engine plans and hinted he could leave if things do not improve. Uncertainty grew after news that his race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, will join McLaren in the future. Verstappen said the move would not affect his decision and added he would adapt. He also said recent rule updates, introduced after race disruptions, were only a small step and not enough to bring major change. The changes aim to improve safety and energy use, but Verstappen believes more action is needed.
