A 33-year-old machine operator was crushed to death in an industrial accident at a casting unit in the Bommasandra Industrial Area, police said on Friday. The deceased, identified as Khemlal Newar Pradhan, was working near a die-casting machine at Dimo Castings around 2 pm when the incident occurred. According to a complaint filed by supervisor Mukti Newar, the victim’s head was crushed in the machine, causing instant death. The complaint alleged that the company management had failed to provide adequate safety measures and safeguards while operating hazardous machinery. Hebbagodi Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to causing death by negligence and negligent handling of machinery.
