A powerful new cinematic storm is brewing in the Kannada film industry. The ninety-second teaser for the upcoming movie Maarige Daari was released on the eve of legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar’s birthday, instantly capturing the hearts of thousands. Within just a few hours of its debut, the gritty footage went viral, sparking massive curiosity among moviegoers.
Agastya, a talented filmmaker from Bengaluru, wears multiple hats for this project. Not only has he written the story, screenplay, and dialogues, but he also directs the film and stars as the lead hero. Produced by Radha under the Radha Films banner, with support from businessmen Chetan Chandra and Satish Krishna Shetty, the project is a collaborative labor of love.
Describing the film’s unique vibe, Agastya called it a “cult classic” filled with raw, emotional elements. He has intentionally kept the plot details under wraps to maintain a sense of mystery, promising fans that more secrets will be revealed in stages. Popular actress Mahalakshmi, currently a household name through the serial Lakshmi Nivas, plays the leading lady alongside a talented supporting cast including Cockroach Sudhi and Balrajawadi.
The film’s visual journey spans stunning locations from the spiritual banks of Varanasi to the lush landscapes of Chikkamagaluru and Mysore. With soulful music by Riyo Antony and sharp stunts by SYC Suri, the production is now heading toward the censor board.
