District Magistrate Swaroop T. K. has directed officials to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the Common Entrance Test examinations scheduled on April 23 and 24.
He chaired a preparatory meeting at the District Office in Rajatadri, Manipal, and stressed maintaining the sanctity of the examination while ensuring a student friendly environment.
The CET will be conducted across 23 centres in Udupi district including Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala taluks, with around 8,746 students expected to appear. Officials said 11 centres are in Udupi, five in Karkala and seven in Kundapur.
Students have been instructed to reach centres at least two and a half hours before the exam. Electronic items such as mobile phones, watches and other devices are strictly banned inside examination halls.
Authorities will appoint observers and supervisors at each centre, and a 200 metre radius around centres will be declared a restricted zone with police security. Health staff will be present and ORS packets stocked considering summer conditions.
Arrangements for drinking water, electricity supply and clocks in exam rooms have been made. CCTV cameras and webcasting will be used to monitor the process.
Officials also said question papers and answer sheets will be securely stored under police protection to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the examination process.
