Deputy Commissioner C.N. Sridhar has directed officials to conduct the Common Entrance Test on April 23 and 24 in a clean and transparent manner across the district.

He spoke during a preparatory meeting held at the District Collector’s office, stressing that no irregularities should occur during the examinations.

He instructed officials to provide basic facilities such as drinking water, electricity, and proper seating arrangements for all candidates. He also emphasized the need for emergency medical support at examination centres to handle any health issues among students.

To maintain discipline and prevent malpractice, prohibitory orders have been imposed within a 200 metre radius of all examination centres. The restrictions will be in effect from 8.30 am to 5 pm on both exam days.

Only candidates and authorized staff will be allowed near the centres, while gatherings of five or more people are strictly banned. Nearby xerox shops, book stalls, and photocopy centres will remain closed during exam hours.

Candidates are not allowed to carry mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, or any electronic items into the examination halls. Wristwatches and study materials are also strictly prohibited.

Deputy Director of the Pre-University Education Department Masanayaka said the exam will be held at 10 centres with a total of 3,533 students appearing.

He confirmed that all arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and peaceful examination process.

Police officials and department staff will be deployed to monitor the situation and ensure rules are followed strictly.

Authorities stated that these measures are aimed at ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all students appearing in the CET examination across the district without any disturbance or unfair practices reported.
