A shocking incident of vigilante justice has rocked Raichur city after a local youth was kidnapped and brutally assaulted over allegations of harassment. The victim, identified as Mehboob, works as a ward boy at a private hospital. The entire ordeal was captured on camera, and the footage has since gone viral across social media platforms, sparking intense debate over law and order in the region.
The trouble began when Mehboob, a resident of Yeramaras Camp, was accused of misbehaving with a young woman who had visited the hospital for treatment. Following the claim, the woman’s relatives and friends reportedly decided to take the law into their own hands. They intercepted Mehboob while he was riding his scooter and forcibly took him to a house in the IDS MT Layout area.
Once inside, the group allegedly held Mehboob captive for nearly four hours. During this time, he was subjected to a violent beating. The viral video of the attack is particularly disturbing, as it reportedly shows a woman participating in the physical assault. The footage has caused an outcry, with many calling for a proper legal process instead of mob violence.
Bazaar Police officials confirmed that they are aware of the video and the details of the attack. While the initial accusation against Mehboob is serious, the police emphasized that abduction and assault are criminal acts. An inquiry is currently underway to identify all individuals involved in the video, and authorities have promised that appropriate action will be taken soon.
